Appalachian mountain dulcimer players- make friends, share, learn to play- Free!

I'm not sure how my hubby got this video onto YouTube, and I can't find the file on his computer to put it on this site just yet (and he is taking a nap right now, so I don't want to wake him up just to ask him). Here is a link to the video on YouTube of me jamming on my Cripple Creek dulcimer with my hubby (on the mandolin) and my Uncle Bill (on the guitar) singing You Are My Sunshine.

Thank you, everyone, for the kind words and encouragement!! I had so much fun with my Uncle. He had to leave today, and we will be going to back to CA tomorrow. Always sad to say goodbye to family. I'm hoping by next Christmas I will have more chords down and really get to jam! :D

I always figure any time the critters don't leave the room, it must sound pretty good! seriously, you did a great job. Most of all it looks like you we're having fun!

Good job to all of you Leighann - looks like the pups were enjoying it as well. Look forward to more in the future.

Cool, Leighann-- there's nothing like making homemade music with loved ones and you're doing great!  Though I could only see :29 or so of the video-- perhaps my internet connection is messed-up some way-- it was easy to see the fun you were having!

Congratulations, Leighann! For someone only playing a week you have a nice and steady right hand. You will progress quickly.

You can upload videos to FOTMD from YouTube. All you need is the embed code from YouTube. However, in this case you shouldn't upload the video but leave it as a link.  "You Are My Sunshine" was recorded around 1939 or 1940 and is still under copyright.

But let me speak for the entire FOTMD community when I say that we look forward to more videos from you in the future. You are off to a great start!

I have a main blog for Traditional style mountain dulcimer playing here: Mountain Dulcimer Noter-drone Blog This is an old style of playing where you only fret your notes on the melody string, while letting the drones strings ring open. In my blog, I express my personal views about playing, I offer free TAB and free beginner videos, and I try to help beginners understand in a very basic simple way the 'mysteries' of playing the mountain dulcimer in traditional modal noter/drone style.
