Appalachian mountain dulcimer players- make friends, share, learn to play- Free!

Hello  FOTMD, have only been dipping into the site for brief spells this last three weeks, and looks as if I shall still have to restrict time spent here, mores the pity, 'cos I enjoy trying to keep up with the constant stream of good stuff that gets posted.   My wife is still not at all well, and has now been admitted to hospital, fingers crossed that she will be home soon !     One of my son's said to me yesterday "it would be nice, concerning you two, to have a health crisis which did'nt co-incide with snow and ice"   Fair comment !

And Dusty, appro 'the Steel Driving Man'    If only you knew how many six inch nails I hammered home as a young man...................

will try to get back soon ,( after all, I too have a dulcimer after the John Mawhee fashion unseen by the world !!!)

JH, you and Mary have been suffering through such a bad patch lately. It sounds like Mary is finally turning the corner, but it's hard to put a happy face on what she's been going through. It can't have been easy for you to see her suffering so, and now you're have more of your own health problems, as well. We all miss you, and look forward to your return (and what that says about Mary's recovery and yours). Until then, you will be in my thoughts. Take care.

JH glad to hear the update. It will be getting better everyday.   A lot of the meds we take to make us better also tend to make us a little confused sometimes. I hope that things get better ral soon ,i am missing you and thinking of you both everyday.

Thanks for the update, John--ditto Kimberly's comments.  Spring is on its way--hopefully, that infection of yours will clear up with fine weather and your Mary will be much better.

Good to hear from you, John! We miss you, but understand your not being able to get on FOTMD as often. We're still keeping you and Mary in our thoughts and prayers!!

John it is so good to hear from you but sorry to hear you are under the weather. Please take care of yourself also. It's a full time job taking care of Mary I know. It's hard on her with only one good arm. That is exactly the same thing I went through with dad even down to the UTI's. By the way that can make her a little disoriented also. Youboth are in my thoughts an prayers. Love to you both, Dana

It's great to hear from you JH!  Here's hoping for continued progress.  I've still got some thinkin' to do concerning the HD, so we'll see.  Thanks for your advice!

Visit Strumelia's Beginner Noter-Drone dulcimer Blog

I have a main blog for Traditional style mountain dulcimer playing here: Mountain Dulcimer Noter-drone Blog This is an old style of playing where you only fret your notes on the melody string, while letting the drones strings ring open. In my blog, I express my personal views about playing, I offer free TAB and free beginner videos, and I try to help beginners understand in a very basic simple way the 'mysteries' of playing the mountain dulcimer in traditional modal noter/drone style.
