Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer

Appalachian mountain dulcimer players- make friends, share, learn to play- Free!

Wow, another year over and a new one just hours away. Where did all that time go to? The older I get, the faster the clock ticks. I sure pray my wrinkles don't try to keep up! lol

For me, this year has been one of many, many changes in nearly every part of my life. Not all of the changes were welcome but, for the most part we had a very good year on the homestead.

Some of the 2012 highlights for us:

First crop of baby goats! Also got a new moniker "Crazy Goat Lady"

Acquired a Kiko billy and 2 young doelings to add to our goat herd.

Learning to make goat milk cheese (and it is sooooooo good, definitely worth the work!)

Using the Back to Eden gardening method and growing a BOUNTY of heirloom veggies to enjoy.

Learning to play the Applachian Mountain Dulcimer and joining FOTMD (you guys rock!)

Hosting weekend camp fellowships on our homestead. Fun, Fun, FUN!

Acquired a Great Pyrenees pup, named her Cotton (adopting Jackson, an adult Great Pyr live stock guardian today)  Pyr's are like potato chips...can't have just one!

And the greatest blessing is:

My husband and I began to pray over each other every morning before he goes to work (\0/) arms raised in praise! Taking the time to pray with and for each other has greatly improved our marriage. There is an amazing bonding process that happens when you wrap your arms around the one you love and pray for them each day. If you are a married believer, I encourage you to do this with your spouse every day.

This is just a short list. We have had way more blessings then burdens this year. I know who is the source of our blessings and I give Yahweh all the credit for the abundance He placed in our lives. I look forward to seeing what 2013 brings.

Blessings and Shalom to you all! See you next year!

Anita, time does pass more quickly the older I get!  Or so it seems.  Each year holds both joys and sorrows. . . Glad you've enjoyed more blessings than burdens in the past year!  Hope '13 holds many hours of happy strummin' for you!

Visit Strumelia's Beginner Noter-Drone dulcimer Blog

I have a main blog for Traditional style mountain dulcimer playing here: Mountain Dulcimer Noter-drone Blog This is an old style of playing where you only fret your notes on the melody string, while letting the drones strings ring open. In my blog, I express my personal views about playing, I offer free TAB and free beginner videos, and I try to help beginners understand in a very basic simple way the 'mysteries' of playing the mountain dulcimer in traditional modal noter/drone style.
