Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer

Appalachian mountain dulcimer players- make friends, share, learn to play- Free!

I have been responsible for putting up several of Bonnie's tunes on Youtube and have, in the process, gotten to know her quite well.  She has been away from playing for a while but I believe she is going resume her playing career shortly. I very much hope so.

Dave, thanks for bringing this up.  There are quite a few fans of Bonnie's playing here on FOTMD.  Perhaps you could persuade her to join here some day, it would be a real honor to have her and I know we'd have some burning dulcimer playing questions for her !

Thanks, Dave, for your getting those tunes onto YouTube!  I'm a big fan of the music Bonnie made with her dad and brother those many years ago and it would be wonderful to hear her play of today.

I have a main blog for Traditional style mountain dulcimer playing here: Mountain Dulcimer Noter-drone Blog This is an old style of playing where you only fret your notes on the melody string, while letting the drones strings ring open. In my blog, I express my personal views about playing, I offer free TAB and free beginner videos, and I try to help beginners understand in a very basic simple way the 'mysteries' of playing the mountain dulcimer in traditional modal noter/drone style.
