Hi Wayne,
Sorry I'm slow to respond. If I get on something like this I spend too much time on it and so don't check messages very often. Things down here are as usual - keeping busy. Got to get out to the barn today and do some cleaning because we are having the Chili Jam out there Feb 6. If I don't get out there and clean the saw dust off of everything, people will be leaving the jam with their head full of fiddle tunes, their bellies full of chili and their butts full of saw dust! If you happen to be in eastern NC, please come and join us. Nancy

Hi Wayne- to change your avatar from the typwriter....go to your "Settings" (upper right of any page) and go to the "Profile" tab. You have to have a SQUARE photo for your avatar, located somewhere on your computer. Go to where it shows the typwriter under Profile picture, and point it instead to the picture on you computer you want instead. Dont forget to hit SAVE (bottom of page) when you're done, to SAVE your change.

I'd rather play than work any day, and being on the computer is a lot like work :-) Missed you at c-o-o-o-l-l-l-d-d Junaluska! You would have appreciated the nose flute and kazoo enemble (2 nose flutes, 3 kazoos). All we needed was a jaw harp to make the ensemble complete.

You'll pardon me but you actually look more like an old Underwood typewriter from where I'm sitting ... good to hear from you nonetheless ...

Visit Strumelia's Beginner Noter-Drone dulcimer Blog

I have a main blog for Traditional style mountain dulcimer playing here: Mountain Dulcimer Noter-drone Blog This is an old style of playing where you only fret your notes on the melody string, while letting the drones strings ring open. In my blog, I express my personal views about playing, I offer free TAB and free beginner videos, and I try to help beginners understand in a very basic simple way the 'mysteries' of playing the mountain dulcimer in traditional modal noter/drone style.
