I'm looking for craft shows and music festivals where I can sell dulcimers within a four hour drive of Beckley, WV. Hopefully, one or two days in length with little or no cost to vend.

Hi Robert,  You may want to try a search using Arts and Craft Festivals with the state added or  go to something like festivalnet.com and search there for venues in the area you want to sell in.

Most festivals charge for booth space with the bigger ones getting into hundreds of dollars for the space (may or may not include tables).  When figuring in the cost for vending you'll want to include gas, hotel fees if the venue is any distance from you that might be for the night before and the night after.  Some venues self insure and others don't so insurance might come into it.  State income tax is a consideration as well as whether you can take a charge card.  Sometimes you'll miss a sale if you don't.  Good luck on finding the right spots.

Thanks Folkfan. I checked out festivalnet.com and I found found alot of promsing possibilities.

Visit Strumelia's Beginner Noter-Drone dulcimer Blog

I have a main blog for Traditional style mountain dulcimer playing here: Mountain Dulcimer Noter-drone Blog This is an old style of playing where you only fret your notes on the melody string, while letting the drones strings ring open. In my blog, I express my personal views about playing, I offer free TAB and free beginner videos, and I try to help beginners understand in a very basic simple way the 'mysteries' of playing the mountain dulcimer in traditional modal noter/drone style.
